About Me

Alecia Reed-Owens is a native of Greenwood, Mississippi. She is a 1999 graduate of Amanda Elzy High School and a 2003 graduate of Jackson State University. In 2006, Alecia graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Law. Upon graduation, she accepted a judicial clerkship with 4th Circuit Court Judge Betty W. Sanders. In 2008, Alecia became the first African American and first female Chief Administrative Officer of the City of Greenwood, Mississippi after being appointed by Mayor Sheriel F. Perkins and unanimously confirmed by the City Council. Currently, Alecia is a practicing attorney in the Jackson, Mississippi area. Her desire to speak stretches far beyond the confines of the courtroom. She is a professional motivational speaker whose mission is to give individuals the power to stand when their hopes and dreams have been paralyzed through life's ups and downs. She aims to convey her message through her own life experiences and original poetic expressions.
